Vegan News – Pamela Anderson nude in shower: PETA ad recreates Psycho scene
SHE’S a long-time animal rights advocate, and we can’t help but think Pamela Anderson loves her gig as a PETA poster-girl.
In the non-profit organisation’s latest advertisement, Anderson has stripped down and recreated the famous shower scene from Psycho to raise awareness about water waste and promote a vegan diet.
The ad states that “meat and dairy farms drain a third of the world’s water,” and encourages people to “Make a splash for the environment — try vegan.”

“With even the oldest, least eco-friendly showerhead, a 10-minute shower averages approximately 40 gallons of water. How does that compare to raising animals for food? It takes 4 MILLION GALLONS OF WATER to produce 1 ton of beef. That means that it takes 1,846 gallons of water to produce just 1 pound of beef — that’s the equivalent of 46 10-minute showers,” PETA state.
“Rivers are siphoned off, not just for the animals but also for crops like alfalfa grown to feed animals on factory farms.” Anderson says. “Producing 1 pound of beef uses as much water as about six months’ worth of showers.”
Anderson is, of course, vegan, and a PETA honorary director. Prior to this advertisement, one of the PETA ads she starred in was banned in countries including Canada and Hong Kong for being “too sexist”.
